Day 2 of the Triduum: Reflection on St. Gerard Majella and the Vow of Chastity
On the second day of our Triduum, as we prepare for the Feast of St. Gerard Majella, we focus on the Vow of Chastity—one of the three vows taken by every Redemptorist. At the heart of these vows lies the complete dedication and unwavering commitment of the Redemptorist missionary to Christ the Redeemer.

St. Gerard Majella, as a Redemptorist Missionary Brother, lived this vow in an extraordinary way. He was a true “contemplative of the people,” touching the wounds of human misery with tenderness and finding strength in the power of the resurrection. His life reflected the spirit of the Redeemer, who came not to be served but to serve, especially the poor and abandoned.
