Simpson Speed Bandit 1 Year Later - Was I Wrong About This Helmet? Still Worth $300

It's been a year since buying this helmet, and I'll be honest.... I had buyers remorse when I first unboxed this helmet. After owning my Biltwell helmets for many years, this helmet seemed like a step in the wrong direction.

I was comparing the helmet with Biltwell too much, I should've focused on the Speed Bandit. Honestly it's loud, it lacks comfort, but it does look cool! When you're shopping these types of helmets, you shouldn't expect $300 quality helmets. Maybe you're unaware, but $100 HJC helmets will blow this thing out of the water when it comes to sound and comfort.

If you're shopping these helmets, you're looking at a specific look and style. If you want a $300 helmet that delivers in noise and comfort, consider a Bell or Arai instead.

Maybe I was a little harsh on the Speed Bandit, considering it costs a lot less than it's competitors. It's about the look, and I like how they keep it minimal. Unlike the Ruroc Atlas.

If you love the Simpson look, the Speed Bandit delivers at half the price of the Ghost Bandit. I'll keep wearing this helmet, I like it. I would've love seeing this helmet around the $200 price range. Thanks for watching vatos, ride safe.
