A video on how to fix stuck, locked & jammed seat belt pretensioners after accident. All seat belts have a gas charge or a pyrotechnic device in them that goes off during a crash, locking the seatbelt mechanism. Once this gas charge goes off, the seat belt will not work again during an accident. Once fired, your seat belt may be jammed, locked, not retracting, stuck, making weird rattling noises and your airbag light may be on. In rare situations, the seat belt will work fine but still be bad. If you suspect that your seat belt is blown or the gas charge has set off, you will need to remove it and then follow the instructions on properly testing it for the Ohms resistance. If the seat belt is good, you will have a 2-3 Ohms reading. If the seat belt is bad, the Ohms reading would either jump around rapidly or read 0. This means that your locked, jammed, stuck or blown seat belt is bad and will not work again! At this point what I do is send it out to https://www.safetyrestore.com/ to get it repaired. A lot cheaper than buying new from the dealer. I work with a lot of salvage cars and have been using Safety restore for a very long time, all the guys at safety restore are great and get the job done! 24 hour turnaround & lifetime warranty.
