Transformers and other accessories needed for the gas to energy project and for enhancement projects by the Guyana Power and Light company have arrived in Guyana. The vessel carrying them berthed at terminals of Muneshwers Shipping, John Fernandes and Guyana Shore Base Inc. Among the 16 transformers delivered were two units, each weighing an unprecedented 241 metric tons—the heaviest cargo ever managed in Guyana. Cranes Guyana Inc. (CGI), a subsidiary of Muneshwers Limited and John Fernandes Limited, secured a contract from Boltcargo India to oversee the handling, transport, and storage of nine of the transformers crucial for Guyana's energy infrastructure. Other companies were involved in the operation for the other transformers. Guyana Shore Base Inc. (GYSBI) handled seven transformers for LINDSAYCA for the natural gas extraction and power plant project. GYSBI's role extended to managing gas pipeline supplies and site preparations, underscoring their pivotal contribution to Guyana's energy future. This project showcases significant advancements in Guyana's infrastructure, supported by local and international partnerships, marking a milestone in the nation's development.
