😭🌵String of Hearts | Ceropegia woodii Repot Guide and five month update❤️
Today we are checking in on a repot from April 2025, it is now September!

😊The good news is the String of Hearts has filled in beautifully! The tubers are sprouting new growth and she is growing purple flowers.
😲The bad news is all the fallen hearts did not take root like I hoped.
😭The WORST news is my poor old boy Marvin passed on Monday, I filmed the update on Sunday, I am so so sad he won't be in my videos or my life any more. He was the sweetest most gentle soul, and I am finding it very difficult to create plant tutorials without him here.

String of Hearts General Care
🌵This plant thrives in well-draining, sandy soil that mimics its native environment. A succulent or cactus mix w perlite, sand or pumice

💧The key to watering is mimicking the natural dry conditions, this means watering every 2-4 weeks depending on what season you’re in & climate. Overwatering is the #1 killer of String of things. Signs of overwatering are yellowing mushy stems or a bad smell

🌞String of Hearts thrives in bright sunlight. It can grow in shaded areas but needs a decent amount of light will make your plant thrive. Mine gets the DIRECT morning sunlight to the top of the plant.

My sweet boy.
That white potato like ball on your Chain of Hearts plant is a tuber or aerial tuber sometimes called a tubercle or bulbil
A forewarning
I was not careful
I should have stopped here
I got over it
Half the hearts are on the floor
Thirty minutes later
For succulents your mix should include coarse sand, grit soil mixture perlite, pumice rock
While SOH is easier to propagate from stem cuttings or tubers you can also propagate a single leaf
THEY DID NOT GROW ROOTS!
The tubers are a much better option.
