To throw fast:

If you click and drag fast, that can work (not very well). I also found that you can click on what ever it is you want to throw, then hold W, A, S or D (depending on which way you want to throw) then let go, you will throw an object (hold for longer to throw faster).

Just messing around trying to figure out how to make "armor" in this game.
