Star Wars Death Star Model | On the LAAM - Ep 5

Greetings prop fans! There's a funny back story about this episode. We actually shot it twice. When I was still living in North Carolina, we wanted to put together a very solid episode showcasing the hard work of one of the many talented members on the RPF, but this turned out to be very difficult logistically. The original idea was to film some footage in California of Rob with his Death Star, then film me in NC asking questions, then magically tie it all together in editing. We shot about an hour of footage of Rob, but using a standard definition camera. When we cut it together with HD footage of me asking questions, it just looked awful. The combination of HD and SD footage was not good. It didn't work, so we decided to put it on the back burner until I got out to California.

So on a sunny Tuesday afternoon, we headed over to Rob's place and re-shot the entire episode, this time with me on site. I think it ended up being the right decision, as we were able to capture the model in all its HD glory.
