Nissan is a big car manufacturer that has a lot of money. But instead of developing a new and vastly improved Navara, the Japanese company is going to save money in the most obvious way. With Nissan leading Mitsubishi, one can imagine an L200/Triton with Nissan styling.

A few years ago, former Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn explained that Mitsubishi's next-generation midsizer would share its platform with the Navara. The sixth generation L200/Triton was launched in July 2023 in three body styles, with production handled by the Mitsubishi Motors Thailand assembly plant.

The 2025 Nissan Navara will most likely use the Mitsubishi pickup truck's 4N16 turbo diesel engine, which comes in single or twin turbo variants. Transmission options include a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic. Alternatively, Nissan could continue to use the current generation YS23 mill.

Despite its original appearance, rumors are circulating that Nissan will not reintroduce the Navara to the European market. Considering that truck registrations will increase by 16.3 percent in 2023 compared to 2022 in the European Union.
