Rex Hunt Fishing Adventures | Series 11 Episode 5 | Lord Howe Island NSW

Описание к видео Rex Hunt Fishing Adventures | Series 11 Episode 5 | Lord Howe Island NSW

I'm back on Lord Howe Island folks some 700kms North East of Sydney. The island is the eroded remnants of a volcano that erupted for 500,000 years about 7 million years ago. Weather wise the best time to visit Lord Howe Island is between September and May. The waters surrounding this maaaaaanificent island are a mix of warm tropical and cool temperate ocean currents, home to over 450 fish species and 90 species of coral, many of which only occur here.

A wonderful way to see the reef, colourful fish and turtles is on a glass-bottom boat and snorkelling tour. You can also hand-feed fish at Ned’s Beach Special Purpose Zone, which is protected by a no-take area which you'll see at the end of this story. There's plenty on offer here, but it's the awesome fishing that's the main attraction for me. Drummer and Bluefish are the target species on fly. Our man on the ground is none other than local Garry Crombie.
