How to Breed DONKEYS and MULES

Описание к видео How to Breed DONKEYS and MULES

The mule1 or mulo2 is a sterile hybrid animal that results from the cross between a mare (Equus ferus caballus) and a donkey or donkey (Equus africanus asinus). It shares some characteristics with the Hinny (resulting from the cross between a horse and a donkey or donkey), but differs in others due to certain genes, which vary their effect depending on whether they are received from the mother or the father.

The term mule comes from the Latin mulus and was originally used to refer to any descendant of two different species.

A mule is generally larger, stronger, and easier to breed than a hinnies, which is why it has been favored by breeders.

Like hinnies, mules are almost always sterile, and in the few cases of fertility the young tend to be underweight and weak. Its sterility is attributed to the different number of chromosomes of the species from which it comes (donkeys have nuclei of 62 chromosomes, while horses have 64).
