Using High Powered CW & Pulsed Amplifiers for EMC Testing | Ft. ATEC & EXODUS

Описание к видео Using High Powered CW & Pulsed Amplifiers for EMC Testing | Ft. ATEC & EXODUS

A Hands-On Demonstration and Fundamentals of using High Powered CW & Pulsed Amplifiers for EMC Testing.

Amplifiers play a pivotal role in EMC testing, particularly in radiated immunity tests, where they are used to generate the high field strengths required to evaluate a device’s resilience to electromagnetic interference. This demonstration while be a hands-on overview of the fundamental principles of using both CW and pulsed amplifiers for EMC purposes. Key topics that will be covered are RF connections, best practices, system monitoring, VSWR, modulations, remote control, selection of correct amplifier, and field strength calculations.

Michael Yantz, is currently the Vice President of Business Development at Exodus Advanced Communications. Michael is based in Las Vegas, NV bringing extensive experience from Exodus and previous roles at companies such as AMETEK-IFI, Teseq, Instruments for Industry, and Logimetrics. His expertise in the RF & amplifier markets have contributed to the growth and success of these companies and their clients. If you’d like more information about Exodus Advanced Communications, they specialize in cutting-edge technology of low, medium, and very high-power products & systems. Offering a wide range of rugged broadband EMC class A/AB linear solid-state amplifiers, many are designed for replacing aging TWT (Traveling Wave Tube) technology. The company has frequency range capabilities from 10kHz-75GHz with power levels of less than a watt to multi-kilowatts CW & pulse.

Gabe Alcala is with Advanced Test Equipment Corp (ATEC). ATEC is a leader in specially purpose test equipment for the aerospace/defense, automotive, and commercial sectors. Gabe is based in San Diego and has been with ATEC for 17 years and ensures quality of products, calibration, and experience for customers. He is currently elected to the IEEE EMC Society Board of Directors, Associate Editor of the IEEE EMC Magazine, Vice Chair of IEEE Southern California Council, and is voting member of several international standards committee such as SAE/DO160 AE-2/4 which cover EMC and indirect lighting effects on commercial aircraft. ATEC is primarily a rental and calibration company and is constantly training EMC engineers in using high powered amplifiers and hopes this presentation will be a helpful tool for EMC engineers performing radiated immunity testing.
