In November 2000 Democrat Al Gore and Republican George Bush faced off in one of the closest elections in US History. After a confusing and frustrating election night, one state was centered in the national spotlight - Florida. An intense battle over ballot recounts ensued as the nation anxiously awaited to see who would become the 43rd President. After a grueling 36 days, the Presidential Election race would be decided by the United States Supreme Court (Bush v. Gore) and would truly come down to the last vote.
