This episode of the Good Timekeeping Show is an in-depth review of the very affordable Casio LF20W analog-digital watch. This watch operates in exactly the same way as the popular "Casio Royale" watch (the AE1200 and its variations), the AE1000 and even the DW291H. The difference is that, instead of having a World Time Zone Map on the face or a line of LCD boxes to mark the passage of time, this LF20W has a ten-segment, animated "pie" in the upper right part of the display. The analog clock on the display is also much larger and easier to read than the analog displays on those other watches. In fact, this reminds me of a very old watch I have, the AE30, which also features an LCD-generated analog display with a digital window beneath it.

The LF20W also has 5 alarms plus the hourly "chime" signal. Each alarm can be set to "Off" or "On" in addition to a one-time-only setting. The watch has a 24-hour stopwatch and a 24-hour countdown timer. There's a pretty, amber-colored backlight. It's accurate to within 30 seconds per month (but, unofficially, I find it to be far more accurate). It has basic water resistance so it's okay for everyday use, but not recommended for any sustained dunking under water. It's powered by a lithium CR1616 battery which should last about 3 years.

So far (as of early in the year 2025), the LR20W is available in five color combinations, although only the black, white and gray versions appear to be readily available in the USA. The other versions are available on the international market. At the time this video was made, the price of this watch is $29.95 from Casios' website but it's also available from Walmart and Amazon for as low as $21.92 plus applicable sales tax.
