Tarikh is a daily program in which we present you with incidents and stories of noteworthy persons of Indian History in Hindi. In this edition of Tarikh Nikhil talks about Prasar Bharati. 1927 India's first Commercial Radio Station started its service. It started in Mumbai and Kolkata. In June 1936, the radio service was named 'All India Radio'. Doordarshan was launched on 15 September 1959. Doordarshan and All India Radio were misused during the Emergency. Kishore Kumar's songs were banned. Since then the demand for making Prasar Bharati arose. Prasar Bharati Bill was passed in Parliament on 06 September 1990.
