Woollahra Bottles

Описание к видео Woollahra Bottles

Here's some more residential footage from the eastern suburbs, this time taken in Woollahra Municipal Council. The typical use of rear loaders in this region of Sydney is also seen in this LGA, with Veolia contracted for recycling and the council works handling the other waste collections.

Woollahra and Botany Bay are the last Sydney councils using crates for recycling, though I noticed some houses in Woollahra have received 120Ls for recycle now. There was word a while ago that the crate system was going to be scrapped and co-mingled with wheelie bins would be the new deal; don't know what's happening with that at present.

For those of you who saw my "Botany Bay Bottles Recycling" video, what you saw there is the exact same collection you're seeing in this video. If you haven't seen it, they're sorting the glass from the plastics and cans into green, brown and clear colours. I'm 99% sure they've stopped this method of collection and now keep everything mixed in the rear loaders. I want to get back to both councils to confirm what they're doing these days.

Anyway here's another speedy and focused Veolia team moving through Rose Bay on a Thursday morning back in early 2010. A big thanks to the enthusiastic team for letting me video.
