Gene Baker opened his own guitar building company “Baker Guitars” after having worked as Master Builder at both the Gibson (under the tutalige of Roger Giffin) and Fender Custom Shops (when John Page was still there). He sold that company after 5 years of building 6-string masterpieces and subsequently headed the Premier Builders Guild (PBG) as Senior Master Builder and Shop Manager. After that stint he formed and opened B3 Guitars. He has created the Baker B1 Bluesman (NAMM Edition) using the blueprint he and Robben Ford had created for a signature guitar that Fender was trying to build for Robben Ford at the time when he was still with the FCS – namely the Fender Esprit. With splittable humbuckers and a spruce top on a selected mahogany body. He also applied the Buzzy Feiten tuning system for surperior intonation as well as a Gibson scale for easy and effortless bending. He called this iteration of the Baker B1 template the “Bluesman”Specs This guitar is build in 2001 and in excellent condition and comes with a hard case.
