Connor Ingram, a true advocate for mental health, was the starting goaltender against the Vegas Golden Knights and stopped 26 shots in a tense 4–3 victory. It marked the 28-year-old’s first NHL start since February of last season, and while the game became closer than expected, Ingram delivered a strong performance overall.

Ingram’s path back to the NHL has not been easy. Last season, he spent time in the NHL’s Player Assistance Program. His struggles continued in the AHL, making this win over a strong Golden Knights team an important boost to his confidence.

The Oilers acquired Ingram shortly before the season with the hope that he could rediscover his game in the AHL before earning another NHL opportunity. In 11 games with the Bakersfield Condors, the Saskatchewan native posted a rough .854 save percentage and a 4.11 goals-against average.

Despite these numbers Connor Ingram has instantly become a Oilers Fan favorite since his opening debut. Let's go Oilers!
