A few days ago, a kindergarten bus carrying young children skid on a slippery road and turned over. But thanks to the help of ordinary citizens, the children were unharmed in what might have been a big tragedy.

A yellow bus all of a sudden staggers, repeatedly crashes into the walls of a tunnel and turns over. At the time, the bus was carrying 21 children and a teacher. The situation of the accident looked dreary. But ordinary citizens who were driving past and witnessed the incident stopped to help the accident victims.

[Soundbite] Cho Kyung-soo(Eyewitness) : "There were people coming from behind. We looked through the windows and saw children inside the bus. We knew we had to rescue them as soon as possible."

Luckily, none of the children were seriously hurt in the accident because they were wearing safety belts. However, they were shocked and frightened. The witnesses called the rescue service and used hammers and golf clubs in their cars to break the windows of the bus to rescue the children. A few moments later, the children were outside one by one. All of the children, their teacher and the driver were unharmed. It all happened in just five minutes after the bus turned over.

[Soundbite] Cho Kyung-soo(Eyewitness) : "Some of the people broke the windows, others took out the children. Some were stopping other cars from entering the tunnel. It's amazing how concerted their efforts were."

The people who stopped to help moved the children to a safe area at the edge of the tunnel and even comforted those who were crying. The front of the bus was severely damaged in the accident while all of its windows were broken. But only two of the children sustained minor injuries and were transported to a hospital.
