Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone universe is still expanding and changing, and there will soon be an increasing number of spin-offs. Sheridan appears to have no intention of concluding the universe with John Dutton, even though Kevin Costner's voyage in the Western world came to an end with season 5. Additionally, one of the numerous spin-offs that are allegedly in development is Harrison Ford's 1923.

Ford plays John Dutton's great, great grand uncle in the prequel series, and he performs a flawless job as usual. Any other actor who was playing a character connected to Costner's Dutton would have thought to get in touch with him, especially considering the supposed rivalry between Sheridan and the Yellowstone star. Ford, though, had other ideas.

Harrison Ford had no intention of contacting Kevin Costner about a prequel to Yellowstone.

One of the numerous generations of the Dutton family faces a variety of struggles in the US in 1923. Harrison Ford plays Jacob Dutton in the Prohibition era while Helen Mirren plays Cara Dutton in the Great Depression era.

Nevertheless, Harrison Ford neglected to consult Kevin Costner about the part or the series, even though he was portraying a different incarnation of Dutton. Any actor would want to set the record straight before agreeing to a show as intimately associated with Yellowstone, especially with the publicity that Kevin Costner and Taylor Sheridan's purported rivalry has received (see Dexterto).

Ford, however, stated in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that he did not want Costner's relationship with Sheridan to have an impact on his relationship with Sheridan or his opinions of the show.

No, sorry. I wanted my thoughts and actions to be dictated by my unique relationship with Taylor. I had no desire to contaminate the road with someone else's. I'm not sure how they manage to get along. Given how well Kevin performs his work, I would expect they get along well.

Ford and Costner both perform amazing jobs, but the series' legacy is still marred by the supposed animosity between Costner and Sheridan. Ford appears to have reconsidered, though, since the two icons were recently seen having a heated conversation at the Golden Globes.

Harrison Ford to Star in Yellowstone Prequel, According to Kevin Costner.

It was not an easy feat to get an actor as iconic as Harrison Ford to appear on screen, but Taylor Sheridan succeeded and even convinced Helen Mirren to play his wife. Kevin Costner was not as taken aback as the amazed fans were.

The Academy Award-winning actor said during his speech that Sheridan's skill and writing would have most likely encouraged the two performers to join up for the 1923 Yellowstone prequel.

"Actors, in my opinion, gravitate toward writing. I believe that you should visit a location that surprises you as long as they continue to play this game. It is highly improbable that something will surprise an audience if it doesn't surprise you.

Costner's remarks appeared to corroborate what Ford had said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, stating that Sheridan's brilliance was what drew him to the show.

Fans are eager for Ford to reprise his role as Jacob Dutton in season 2 of 1923, even if there doesn't seem to be any word on when it will air.
