Thanks for the support guys. Yoyo recreation Draupnir

Introduction
Amidst all the Yo-yoing hype at the 2015 World Yoyo Contest, I finally let all logic fly out of my brain and bought myself a Yoyo recreation Draupnir.
I didn’t actually buy one at full price; I bought a B grade that initially had a little bit of vibe. However after handing it to my buddy Vu Ho he pretty much sorted that out. So my discounted Draupnir now played like an A grade. Thanks Vooie.
The Draupnir is Yoyorecreation’s premium throw. It is the undisputed weapon of choice for the majority of their players such as Iori Yamaki, Yusuke Ottsuka, Jakub Dekan etc.
Just as you’d expect it is priced at an astronomically high “$250 USD”, and has made a name for itself as “one of the best throws on the market”.
Specs

Diameter: 57.04 mm / 2.24 inches
Width: 43.42 mm / 1.71 inches
Gap Width: 4.40 mm / .17 inches
Weight: 63.5 grams
Bearing Size: YoYoRec Ds Bearing
Size C
Response: YoYoRec IR Pad
Construction

The Draupnir has a Bi-Metal construction, consisting of a 7075 Aluminium body and Stainless Steel rims on the edge. The version I have has a bead blasted body with no laser engravings whatsoever.

Depending on the version some Draupnirs might have a polished finish and the laser engravings range from simplistic to highly extravagant, this all depends on the version you get.
The Draupnir has a 4mm Axle and comes stock with a DS Bearing and IR pads, however due to Vu’s tuning I currently have a Crucial 2 Bearing installed. With close inspection the inner wall seems to have been deliberately left with a polished finish, probably to ensure the least amount of friction and boost spin time.
Weight
The Draupnir weighs in at 63.5 grams which by average standards is very light. However due to the perfectly placed stainless steel rims the Draupnir glides with an unshakable stability very rarely found in anything of its weight.
Playability
The Draupnir is a highly angular Yoyo that is best suited for players that like to crank up the speed and horizontal play. Almost every manufacturer will claim that the weight is positioned perfectly on the rim maximising spin time. I’ve heard this so many times it borders on “Cliche” but I’ve played with no other yoyo that can match the weight distribution of the Draupnir.
Its distribution allows a light weight angular yoyo, to have a long and stable spin time. Making it ideal for tricks that can put a lot of stress on the yoyo. The Draupnir chews up every speed combo and horizontal combo I can throw at it and seems to always have enough spin time for a little bit more.
One drawback that I initially found with the Draupnir is that initially the pads are positioned is such a way that make the yoyo very grabby. This made the yoyo very snaggy for regular tech styled tricks.
I later changed to a thinner string and it seems to have alleviated the issue, but the fact remains. The Draupnir delivers extremely tight binds that often snag and require a couple of throws in order to get the yoyo spinning again.
Final Thoughts
The Draupnir is a Yoyo that allows players to push the boundaries. Its spectacular weight distribution gives it an optimal combination of advantages such as its light weight yet also stable and long spinning. The price however is ridiculously high and buying multiple Draupnirs for competition would be a hefty investment. Ultimately I can say that I was very impressed with this yoyo and it remains a Yoyo I play around with often and makes a nice addition to my collection.
