Here's how to install an aftermarket tachometer on a Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle. The tachometer is around $60 on eBay, and it is electric. It was easy to install a tachometer on my Royal Enfield Bullet 500 motorcycle, but the tachometer is designed for a system that fires on every revolution, like a Harley, so it only reads half as many RPMs as it should. If I multiply what is says by 2, then I know how fast the engine is turning. This tachometer installation isn't perfect, but it works well enough for me.
