Corey House reaction is a modification of Wurtz reaction. Wurtz reaction is applicable to only symmetrical alkyl halides. When we use two different alkyl halides it gives multiple products.

To overcome this problem scientists E. J. Corey, G.H. Posner, G.M. Whitesides, and H.O. House proposed an alternative method which is commonly known as Corey House synthesis.

It has multiple steps via formation of two different organometallic reagents like alkyl lithium and lithium di alkyl cuprate.
