the air conditioning button doesn't work / doesn't light up
this implies the air conditioning system is complete and functioning. - and charged with refrigerant.
i visited an electrician. verified all the fuses under the steering wheel left (main fuse panel) - nothing all ok
verified all fuses in the conjunction box - nothing - all well there.
after checking this site fuseandrelay.com and seeing there is an ECU (air conditioning ECU) behind the glove box. - I needed ro change the cabin air filters anyway so while in there I also wiggled a few wires and it worked once and i turned on the AC and never turned it back off. it wasn't allowing me to turn it back off.
so after it stopped working again decided to take back the glove box out again then removed the big cable from the ECU and sprayed contact cleaner inside it - plugged it back in and tadaa - it works.
this implies that your AC system is functional
