Realizing that cost is one of the main factors in keeping newcomers from trying out RC hobby, we decided to create a new series on Props & Wheels: "BUDGET RC". In these episodes, we will share with you the great deals we find, either used or NOS (new old stock) RC aircraft, vehicles and equipment.

This first episode features a great RC deal (we call it a "steal") in the form of a 3-channel helicopter in practically new condition. It is a Protocol Skyline G-Series 3-channel RC helicopter with gyro stabilization and an old-school 49MHz FM controller. I found it on Facebook Marketplace for $10. It had a very weak battery, but I already had several of the same size batteries, so replacing it was easy and took me about half an hour.

And this solid-feeling, not-so-small RC helicopter turned out to be a fun indoor and calm-outdoor flyer. What a great steal!
