Yamaha APX500 Rescued and Repaired. Review and Tones. A Great Value Electroacoustic Guitar

This nice Yamaha APX 500 guitar (ca 2000 ?) had been dropped and the neck broken. It might have been on the way to the tip, poor thing, but I thought it might be straight forward to repair it. I picked it up from the owner who had advertised it on Freeserve, a web based service where people can offer freebies to the community. With my favorite PVA wood glue and several clamps I managed to fix the head and it's holding just fine. It had also lost the battery holder but I found a Yamaha replacement part from Andertons, that nice music shop in Guildford (UK). Now I just need to find some colours/lacquers to restore the Oriental Blue Burst finish on the neck. I'm delighted with the result as the guitar plays really nicely and, yes, as others have said, it does come alive through an amp!
