In this interview, we speak to Carlos Buesa, CEO of Oryzon Genomics, with a focus on the company’s lead programme targeting agitation and aggression in borderline personality disorder (BPD) patients. Oryzon recently submitted the Phase III protocol to the FDA to initiate the PORTICO-2 trial, and regulatory clearance is expected in September 2025. Carlos discusses the progress of the BPD programme, as well as the unmet needs in the space, since there are currently no FDA-approved drugs specifically for BPD. He also covers the expandable opportunity for vafidemstat into other neurological conditions characterised by agitation and aggression, such as autism spectrum disorder.
