Naomi Watanabe is one of Japan's biggest stars, and her comedic talent and loveable nature has helped her gain international recognition and status. She first became famous in the country when she performed Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love" during a variety tv show, and has amassed a large following and stardom since then. Her outfits of the week showcase that the idea of dressing as a plus-size person and celebrity should not be centered around hiding the body or depressing and aging motifs and materials. It's a beautiful thing to get to see such a sense of joy from her dressing, which easily incorporates traditional Japanese clothing like the "Geta Sandals" as well as more modern Japanese fashion aesthetics like "Kawaii". The brands she wears range from the likes of Area, Vaquera & Loewe to Urban Outfitters, and a brand I've become rather obsessed with post-watching, Lazy Oaf. Naomi Watanabe's persona and comedy prove she's a star, but the outfits she showcases present her as a fashion icon in the making with a legacy that will live on!
