The team at Soma Laboratory are known for creating some truly creative audio mangling machines – from their Pulsar drum machines to their Lyra analogue synth. But, when they sent us an early unit of their new ‘Rumble of Ancient Times’ device, we weren’t sure what to make. The tiny noise synth is as simple in design as can be, but don’t let that fool you. What appears as a simple compact 8-bit synth can summon sounds far deeper than you might expect…
