Rhinoplasty Procedure and Recovery- Vlog Edition

Описание к видео Rhinoplasty Procedure and Recovery- Vlog Edition

In today’s video, Dr. Caridi is performing a Rhinoplasty for our wonderful patient who was kind enough to document her journey as an educational experience for all of you!

Today’s video format is a bit unique, where you will see and hear this case from Dr. C’s perspective, as well as a vlog style documentary from our patient’s post-op recovery!

She comes to us today having had some trauma to her nose in the past, and has long desired a smaller and more proportionately sized nose. You can see that she has a hump, rather than a subtle “slope” that most people desire. Her nose also slopes down and flatten out when she smiles, which is something that we will correct with the procedure today!

The art of a rhinoplasty is done in incremental millimeter adjustments to ensure beautiful results. Dr. C starts with lowering the dorsum to remove the “hump” and moves to raise the tip of her nose. Dr. C also does a cartilage graft as our patient’s cartilage was not well developed. This helps explains why there was not great definition in her tip.

This case was all about balance and proportion! It’s safe to say that she will lose a slight amount of her new pointed tip, but overall, Dr. C is happy and he knows our patient will be too!

Vlog Directly Post Surgery
Our patient is 5 or so hours after her rhinoplasty and is doing well! She had some pain, but that was easily managed with her medication. Icing has helped with the pain and some of the swelling as well. She has already enjoyed chicken noodle soup and overall cannot complain. There is a bit of leakage which is to be expected at this point in time. Bruising under the eyes and around the nose is starting to become more noticeable, but that too is normal and to be expected. She is napping, icing, eating and overall doing great!

Vlog First Week Of Surgery
A few days after surgery, our patient is still wearing her compression sock and her face is beginning to swell around her cheeks and above her lip. This is part of the healing process, and is to be expected. She continues to ice which is crucial for recovery and uses saline spray when it gets more difficult to breathe. There is not much pain at this time, just general discomfort which is manageable through icing and the occasional saline spray. Around day 4 she transitioned from her prescription to Tylenol for pain management.

Her post-op photos look amazing, and her results are everything she and Dr. Caridi were working for. Her hump is gone, her tip is no longer pointing down when she smiles, and overall, her nose is more feminine looking and balanced for her face!
