Two long-underused office campuses near I-66 are being completely wiped clean to make way for an entirely new neighborhood called Fairfax Crossing. Instead of dated cubicles and half-empty parking lots, the plan brings over 1,100 new homes, including stacked townhouses and modern apartment buildings designed for full-time living—not commuting.

What makes this redevelopment different is how intentional it is. An existing school stays right in the center of the site. A 1.6-acre central park anchors the community. More than two miles of new trails are planned to connect residents directly into surrounding areas. This isn’t a cosmetic refresh—it’s a full reset from 9-to-5 office use to a true live-work-play neighborhood.
