Two (2) 3" squares from Fabric D and E to make HST’s
One (1) 5 3/4 " squares from Fabric E
Four (8) 2 1/2" squares from Fabric E

BLOCK INSTRUCTIONS:
To make your Triple-Square Triangle Units we first need to make HST's using the two at a time method. Take two 5 ¾” squares and place right sides together. With a fabric marking pen draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of your 5 ¾” square and sew ¼” on each side of the line. To reveal two HST’s cut on the diagonal line you drew. Press open and trim HST’s to 5”.

Draw a diagonal line on each of the 5" fabric B squares. Pair a 5" square with a HST unit right sides together and drawn line perpendicular to the seam line of the HST. Sew a ¼" seam on each side of the marked line.

Cut apart on the line you drew and open and press your piece. Repeat this process to get 4 triple triangle units that look like this. Square your units to 4 ½”

To create your corner block units take four 2 ½” squares from Fabric E and draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of the fabric. Pin to the left corner of your 2 ½” x 4 ½” strip from Fabric C with the diagonal line facing to the left. Sew on the line you drew. Trim your seam allowances to ¼” and press piece open.

Next we need to make four 2 ½” HST’s. Pair your 3” squares together and draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of the fabric . Sew 1 /4” on each side of the line and cut piece on the diagonal.

Press all your HST’s open and square to 2 ½” .

Now you have all the pieces to create your block. To create your corner blocks sew your hst’s to a 2 ½” square from Fabric E. Sew this segment to your corner strip unit. Create four of these blocks.

Arrange your units into rows following the block and design.

Sew your units into rows and sew your rows together alternating seams so seams will match up perfectly.

Your Sunflower blocks is complete!
