A Winter I Will Never Forget - Original Music Video - LesleyTheBirdNerd ft. Music by Dick Kait

A Winter I Will Never Forget is a collection of photographs by Newfoundland's Lesley Earle -- known to her YouTube friends as LesleyTheBirdNerd. The photos were shot in 2011, but shown together for the first time on YouTube, accompanied by an original soundtrack, written and performed by American composer, Dick Kait (from Cincinnati, Ohio). The scenery shows the surrounding woodlands near the home of Lesley in Newfoundland. Lesley's magical talent for creating friendships with the wild birds and small animals is a near miraculous situation, and hope you agree when you see the photos.

The first composition of the soundtrack is the original contemporary folk music by Dick Kait, in two parts. The first composition is titled "Country Snow" and is conceived in the mold of an American hill gospel music. The second track is highlighted with finger-picking folk guitar patterns, including some Dylanesque riffs in a more traditional folk style. The guitar sound is actually produced by Dick's Yamaha Motif 8 keyboard, using acoustic guitar "samples" that attempt to reproduce the playing of a real guitar. That is one of Dick's unique playing styles for a pianist.

These photos are amazing proof that the Winter of 2011 in Newfoundland will be impossible for Lesley to ever forget. How these birds can be so trusting, is the mystery of these images, but we can assume that for these moments, Lesley was in the snow with the birds and squirrels as the center of their universe.
