Shifting Buyers in Radiology Technology

This video explores the evolution of who is buying radiology workflow technology. In the past, hospitals owned the PACS, VNA, and enterprise viewers, often going through lengthy RFP processes and implementation phases. Training was conducted on-site with various vendors working together to create a cohesive system. Radiologists typically read exams on-site with teleradiology taking over after hours. The landscape has changed. Now almost all diagnostic radiologists read remotely at times. As diagnostic radiologists, almost all become “teleradiologists,” independent radiology groups are purchasing their own clinical workflow, reading, and reporting solutions.
