Using the RJM PBC6/X with the Fortin Zuul & Its Key Input

This video explains a simple way to utilize the RJM PBC 6/X's Input 2 to split the guitar signal to the Fortin Zuul's Key Input. Please note that this will only work if you are running your guitar signal directly into the PBC. If you have an effect before the PBC, such as a WAH, this method will not work.

We have received numerous e-mails and calls with questions on how to integrate the Fortin Zuul noise gate with the RJM PBC 6/X. The two most common questions are "How can I split the signal to the Zuul's Key input without an additional pedal" and "Where should I put the Zuul in the PBC as it has re-arrangeable loops".

1) The RJM PBC 6/X features an Input 2 that can be programmed to an "always on tuner output." This can be utilized to split to the Fortin Zuul's Key Input, eliminating the need for a Boss Tuner or additional pedal to split the signal.

2) The RJM PBC 6/X features rearrangeable loops, therefore it makes things a bit trickier when using a noise gate. If your setup is going to always be in front of the head, or using the amp's FX loop then it makes the setup with the gate a bit easier. If you plan to switch between using the Amp's FX Loop and going to the front of the head (which the PBC 6/X is designed to do with ease), using a gate is a bit trickier. The best way to set this up would be to put the Zuul in a loop of the PBC 6/X. You can rearrange the loop order to have it as the first pedal in your FX Loop or wherever you need it when running direct to the head.
