In this video, we shall provide an overview of Functional Safety and talk about why Functional Safety is important. We shall introduce basic concepts such as Hazard, Risk, and Safety Integrity. You will learn how to reduce risk due to Functional Safety Hazards with examples from various safety systems. And at the end, we shall present an overview of Functional Safety at NXP and how you can learn more about this evolving branch of engineering.

Aarul Jain is managing the team of Functional Safety Architects and Managers for development of safe Automotive and Industrial microprocessor and microcontrollers. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology and a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University and is a certified safety professional for both ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 from TUV-SUD.
