40 Meatpie
Ingredients
Filling
900g Minced Beef
2 Onions (Chopped)
2 Scotch Bonnet Peppers (Chopped)
2 Potatoes (Chopped)
2 Knorr cubes
2 tsp Aromat
1 tsp Curry powder
1 tsp Thyme
1 tsp Smoked Paprika
1 tsp Black Pepper
1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
Salt to taste(Be careful with salt due to seasoning)
3 Tbsp Flour ( Flour slurry which is flour in a bowl water in a bowl and pour it into the minced beef filling to make it moist)



Shortcrust Pastry
1700g Flour
1000g Butter
2 tsp Baking Powder
3 Tbsp Castor Sugar
2 tsp Salt
6 Eggs
Cold Water (Just add a little water to flour)
1 Egg for glazing the meat pie

Method for the Meat Pie filling
- Pour a little oil in your pan add the chopped onions and sauté.
-Add your curry powder, thyme, smoked paprika, black pepper, chopped scotch pepper and fry everything.
-Pour your minced beef into the pan and use your spoon to break down the minced meat.
-keep frying until the reddish colour in the minced beef disappears.
- Add your knorr cubes, aromat, salt to taste and keep frying.
- Pour in your chopped potatoes keep frying.
-In a small bowl add your flour and water mix until add this to minced beef mixture also add water.
-The flour Slurry(flour and water) will make the minced beef filling so moisture.
-Let it simmer for awhile together and it is cooked.
-,The filling have to be cool before putting it in the shortcrust pastry.

Shortcrush Pastry Method
- In a bowl add your flour, baking powder, castor sugar, salt and whisk together.
-Add your butter to the flour mix with your hands or pastry blender until it looks crumbly texture.
-Add your whisk eggs and add cold water mix together gently.
-Put your pastry in a cling film and put in the fridge for at least one hour.
-Bring your pastry out of the fridge, cut into small portions and do not overwork the pastry.
- Use your rolling pin and flatten the pastry put it on the meat pie pastry mound.
-Egg wash the edge of the pastry in the mould then add your cold filling and close the mould to seal the edge.
-Place it on a baking sheet with parchment paper and egg wash with a brush.
-Bake in the oven for 40 minutes at 170 C.
-Bring it out from the oven, let it cool down and your delicious meat pie is ready.
