Swanley Miniature Railway - The Most Efficiently Run Railway In The World??

Today we visit the Swanley New Barn Railway situated in Swanley country park, Kent. this is a 7 1/4 inch line that runs around the boundary of the country park with roughly 800m of track. the railway boasts 2 stations at either end of the park and runs a very extensive timetable with departures around every 5 minutes.
This is a must visit for any rail enthusiasts as I can not think of another single railway that is run as efficiently as this one and the amount of rolling stock and locomotives on show is rather impressive!
at new barn station there are a number of volunteers who makes the timetable run smoothly with with the arriving locomotive going onto the turntable and another one ready to couple up and go.
the engine shed is certainly impressive as well with a number of unusual 71/4 inch locos from a Eurostar with a questionable horn to the only 71/4 scale kestrel in existence.
The railway is operated from easter until September all weekends and fares cost a very reasonable £1.50 single or £2 for a return, Please see the link below for more information:
