Filter paper separates wheat from water | Separation Methods | Chemistry

Описание к видео Filter paper separates wheat from water | Separation Methods | Chemistry

Filtration is a process by which we can obtain clean drinking water. It separates liquids from solid particles. A simple filtration process is shown in the video. The size of pores decides what will get filtered - a sieve or strainer is enough to filter tea leaves, but particles of wheat flour are much smaller. This activity shows how filter paper can get this job done on account of its pores being smaller than the particles of wheat. When a wheat solution is run through a filter paper, all the wheat is blocked by the pores, producing a residue of wheat particles and only clear water as the filtrate.
