Many times, Alex's musical themes are inspired by real life events. In the section bellow, he'll be shedding some light about what the title and mood are all about.

"Spearmint, the persistent herb my grand-mother used in the kitchen. A herb she also grew in small pots all around her house.

This piece of music reflects on what it was like to visit her small one-story house among the large estate buildings in central Athens, Greece.

Her little garden, right in the middle of the concrete jungle, had plenty of plants, small trees as well as a few chickens and a cock.

She was a wonderful woman. Totally radical ideologies for her time. Grandma was a true worker. A worker for her life, her friends and for the community.

Grandma would make these amazing tiny delicious meatballs. She would load them with freshly-cut spearmint. Sometimes she would over-do it. You would bite a juicy meatball only to find an incredible amount of freshly chopped spearmint leaves.

The piano theme is almost like drops of water onto her plants. She had small containers everywhere and I swear I can remember water dripping from pot to pot. Spearmint was almost everywhere.

At 1:20... that's when the true remembrance of spearmint flavour kicks-in... and 2:00 is the moment when I really appreciate my grand mother's cooking.

Cooking with a specific herb with such persistence and passion was her thing... Never forgetting it, is mine."
