A utility will periodically read the meter located at each metered service point
A refuse collection company will periodically visit each refuse service point to collect the refuse
Service points that are periodically visited will reference:
A service cycle. This defines WHEN the service point is visited.
A route within the cycle. This defines group of SP's within a cycle that are visited by the same crew / treated the same way on a given date.
A sequence within the route. This defines the physical position of the
SP within a route.
Foreshadowing: when the system creates a bill for a service agreement with metered service points, it uses the SP's service cycle to determine when it should find a read (and if it can't find a real read, it creates an estimate)
Therefore, even if your organization doesn't visit service points (e.g., a retailer in a deregulated market), you will still have to set up service cycles on your service point
