The NETGEAR AC1900 WiFi range extender review (Nighthawk WiFi Mesh) is short and to the point in this step by step NETGEAR tutorial. Without any effort at all this NETGEAR range extender or wifi repeater does a great job at extending your WiFI signal. You can add this to your mesh wifi extender setup in your house or business building. This WiFI booster, WiF extender or WiFi repeater are all different names for one device that blends into your WiFi network and give you further signal reach with all your wireless devices.

The Negear AC900 extender/wifi repeater has a small footprint and plugs into an AC 110v wall socket with ease. It provides a network link connection with your existing primary wifi router. Here's a really cool fact, you don't have to change anything on your network or on your wireless router. The complete setup is done in the wifi range extender configuration using the NETGEAR Geine interface. Yes, you can connect more then one extender up but you can not dasiy chain them together. Second question: How far out from my wireless router can the extender single go? There is a simple answer to this: Extender location is the primary key to getting the best signal quality and most distance out of any extender. You might experience interference problems, for example: thick walls or floors, other electronic equipment or extender might be to far away from router...etc. Test until you find the best sweet spot somewhere mid way between your Primary Router and your Wifi device connecting to the extender. This will give you the best consistently solid signal quality from the extender.

One more thing is about the Ethernet port or also refered to as a LAN port RJ45 plug on the wifi extenders bottom. It allows you to hook up other computer devices that might not have a wireless adapter, like an old desktop computer and get a internet connection. This is done by using a LAN cable or RJ45 cable between the two Ethernet ports between the wifi extender and the desktop computer. Just about any device that has a RJ45 port can connect directly to the LAN port on the wifi range extender. Even Xbox and ps2 gaming stations.
