Government partnerships that work: agencies of USA and India, partner with industry to fund entrepreneurs in USA & India - a strategy that changes the lives of people!

"World is flat!" -- it is a mere 10 years since Tom Friedman made his famous proclamation, interestingly, while traveling in India. The theory is based on the forces and convergences of technological innovations combined with 3 billion people entering the playing field and thus re-calibrating the boundaries. In the ensuing years, innovation and entrepreneurship continue to flourish seamlessly across borders at an accelerating pace.

GEM (Global Entrepreneurship Monitor) reports of the worldwide agreement of the importance of entrepreneurship for economic development, estimating that there are almost half a billion entrepreneurs starting businesses in 2013!! GEM studies also show that entrepreneurs are among the happiest people across the globe!!

Cross-border entrepreneurship is proving that industry-government partnerships can indeed catalyze practical, on-the-ground results of visions to support innovations focused on making societal impact through science and technology. The session composed of panelists from the US-India Science & Technology Endowment Fund (composed of agencies of USA and India governments), as well as Lockheed-Martin, will share how a successful collaboration formula can be effective in fueling innovations on a sustainable basis.
