In today’s episode of Figuring Out, we have Cdr. Abhishek Kankan in conversation with Raj Shamani. He is an Ex MARCOS and Submariner, Gallantry awardee, and a Mt Everest summiteer.

In this episode, we talked about who is a Submariner, what they do, how they are selected, and their training process. We then talked about why submarines are used, why terrorists attack submarines, and what will happen if they attack. We also talked about advanced submarines, how submarines are tested, and how long they are there in the water. We discussed the basic salary of submariners, how much MARCOS earns, and major issues faced by all the Indian army.

Towards the end, we talked about Pirates, which country has the most Pirates and what is their goal. We then talked about MARCOS training, why it is most difficult to survive in the ocean and how boundaries are decided in the sea. We ended our conversation with his stories from mission days.
