This case, along with Berbatis, Hospital Products, and Waltons v Maher (all of which have two-minute casenotes), collectively define the new era in equity law in Australia, where the central theme of equity is to provide a weapon to constrain unconscionable conduct.

The case itself is familiar to most law students - the Amadios were trapped into giving a guarantee for their son's failing business, until the High Court saved them.
