American Sign Language (#ASL) is one of the most predominantly used sign languages in the world. We are building an ASL Recognition system. The data obtained using Kaggle consisted of a collection of image files for each alphabet. To manage these files, we will be using a relatively new function known as imageDatastore(). We will specify its properties and then import and process the data using object functions. We will move on to loading a pre-trained convolution #neural network in MATLAB, #AlexNet, and fine-tuning the net to meet our specification of classifying the vowel images.
