Just when you thought the A’s relocation saga to Las Vegas couldn’t get any more farcical, another bombshell drops. This one from the outstanding Howard Stutz of the Nevada Independent who noticed that the A’s non-relocation agreement with Las Vegas includes a clause that allows the team to play eight games away from their proposed stadium annually.

This, of course, is problematic for any number of reasons. Let’s pluck one out of the air, shall we? Oh, here we go. In the entire financial presentation made to the Nevada senate, the team insisted the A’s would sell out every home game, with 30 percent of those in attendance being out-of-towners. That is how the stadium would be a success, in their view.

What wasn’t mentioned was the fact they would not play a full slate of 81 home games there. A non-relocation allowing the A’s to play 10 percent of their home games away from their home city seems ridiculous. Quite frankly, it seems one way or the other, Jon Fisher, Dave Kaval and the Oakland A's are leaving Las Vegas.

When you look at what is happening with the Oakland A’s and this desire to play games outside of Las Vegas, one of three scenarios is playing out.
