Kia Oval, located at 51°29′1″N 0°6′54″W, was established in 1845 and has a capacity of 27,500. It is owned by the Duchy of Cornwall and operated by Surrey County Cricket Club. The venue hosts various events and is known for its cricket grounds.

In addition to its rich cricket history, The Oval has hosted numerous other historically significant sporting events. Notably, it staged the inaugural representative football match between England and Scotland in 1870, although this is not officially recognised as an international match by FIFA. Furthermore, The Oval hosted the inaugural FA Cup final in 1872 and subsequently hosted matches between England and Scotland from 1874 to 1892. In 1876, it hosted both England v. Wales and England v. Scotland rugby international matches, and in 1877, it hosted rugby’s inaugural varsity match. Additionally, The Oval has hosted the finals of the 2004 and 2017 ICC Champions Trophy and the 2023 ICC World Test Championship Final.
