Aligarh vendors praise Yogi Govt's ‘nameplate’ order on Kanwar routes amid controversy



The impact of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's decision to maintain the sanctity of faith of Kanwar pilgrims by placing nameplates on food and drink stalls along the Kanwar routes is evident on Aligarh's Kanwar routes. To maintain the sanctity of the faith of Kanwariyas bringing Kanwar from Ramghat, nameplates have been displayed on the stalls on Ramghat Road in Aligarh, and vendors are seen appreciating this move. Aligarh's Assistant Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, Dinanath Yadav said, “In line with the government's instructions, inspections of shops along the Kanwar routes are being conducted. Essential instructions have been given regarding ensuring the safety of the goods, cleanliness, and displaying the proprietor's name. In the coming days, our five teams will be regularly deployed to ensure quality and compliance with the government's instructions. Those who have obtained licenses from us will also be given general instructions to display our registration. Additionally, the storage and manufacturing of Halal-tagged food items are prohibited, and departmental action has been taken in the past. Currently, our officers are conducting intensive inspections and monitoring. If such food items are found, action will be taken against them under the relevant sections.” Moreover, the vendors on Ramghat Road in Aligarh, where nameplates have been displayed, are also seen appreciating the government's decision.
