Filmeto en Esperanto [Sub:English/Esperanto] English Description Below - Esperanto version of the description is forthcoming. Subtitoloj en Eo estas cxapelotaj.

This question comes up a lot, and I've answered it many times in different places. Over the last year, I've seen several explanations for English speakers that are just plain wrong. I decided that I should gather up the best explanations and make a short video with some of the longer explanations in the description.

Just as I was getting ready to do this, the question came up again on Stack Exchange.

(It was in a side note in one of the answers.)

No doubt this is a difficult combination of sounds - especially for English speakers and others who don't have these sounds or combinations in their native language. The trouble, however, is when people start out with the thought that "C is pronounced TS" and then think that all TS sounds are created equal.

In fact, the sound of the letter C in Esperanto is determined by the Fundamento. It's the same as the letter Z in German, Ц in Russian, and C in Polish. It is also pronounced like the TS in "wits" -- but NOT like the TS in "sofT-Serve" or "baT-Song."
