In Comyets FAQ (frequently asked questions) about Ink!sans, it mentions ink hardly feels any physical pain.

This fact had given me the headcannon that Ink!sans would tend to ignore/not recognize physical pain, and with his job as protector of AUs probably puts his health aside whenever it gets in the way of his job.

This video tries to explain/demonstrate how that would go to be. The stars had an encounter with nightmares gang in which a battle took place. Ink was the one to go into battle with horror, in which he struggled with and ended up thrown across the battlefield which would be brought up multiple times during this video.

Dream Sans is the one to take notice of ink’s change in behavior and worries for his companion. After a week of observation he decided to confront Ink sans about the issue in which ink reveals he was injured in battle. Dream worried for his friend and immediately took it upon himself to care for his friend, making sure he rested while also not having to worry about his work.
